Create Multiple DelightChat Team Member Emails Without Separate Email Licenses
If you want to invite multiple team members to DelightChat, each team member needs a unique email address.
However, you may not want to purchase a separate email inbox/license for every team member. In that case, you can use plus-addressing, if your email provider supports it.
What is plus-addressing?
Plus-addressing allows you to create multiple variations of the same email address by adding a + sign and a word after your main email username.
For example, if your main email is: support@brand.com
You can create email variations like:
support+priya@brand.com
support+team1@brand.com
support+sales@brand.com
support+ops@brand.com
All these emails will still be delivered to: support@brand.com, But DelightChat will treat each one as a different email address.
How this helps in DelightChat
You can use these unique email variations to invite different team members to DelightChat.
For example:
%20(1).jpg)
This way, each person can have a separate DelightChat login without needing a separate paid email inbox.
Steps to invite team members using plus-addressing
- Go to your DelightChat dashboard.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Team Members.
- Click Invite Team Member.
- Enter the plus-address email, for example: support@brand.com
- Send the invite.
- Ask the team member to open the invite email from the main inbox
- They can then complete the signup and set their password.
Important note
Plus-addressing depends on your email provider.
Most providers like Gmail and Google Workspace usually support this. Some other providers may not support it by default.
Before inviting multiple users, we recommend testing one email first. If the email is received in your main inbox, plus-addressing should work for your domain.
