How to Set Up Back-in-Stock Messages in DelightChat
The Back-in-Stock Message automation allows you to automatically notify customers on WhatsApp when a product they subscribed to is available again.
This helps you recover missed sales and bring interested customers back to your store as soon as inventory is updated.
When is this message sent?
This automation is sent to customers who have subscribed through the back-in-stock popup on your website.
Once the product is available again, DelightChat can automatically send a WhatsApp message to the customer based on your automation settings.
Step 1: Open the Back-in-Stock Automation
- Log in to your DelightChat account - Go to Marketing - Automations - Select Back-in-Stock Message.

Step 2: Configure the Message Sending Delay
You will also see a link to configure the back-in-stock popup. Make sure the popup is configured so customers can subscribe for restock alerts.
Under Message Sending Delay, choose when the WhatsApp message should be sent after the product comes back in stock.

Step 3: Select the Message Template
Under Select Message Template, choose the WhatsApp template you want to use for the back-in-stock notification.

Step 4: Resolve Body Variables
If your WhatsApp template has variables - map them to the correct values. This ensures that the customer receives the correct product name and checkout/product link in the message.

Step 5: Optional — Include Discount
If you want to include a discount in the back-in-stock message, enable the Include discount option.
When enabled, the coupon code will be added to the product URL, so customers can use the discount while completing their purchase.

Step 6: Configure Advanced Settings
Choose how the back-in-stock notification should be sent.
You will see two options:
- Send back-in-stock notification to all subscribers
Select this if you want the message to be sent to all customers who subscribed for the product restock alert.
- Send back-in-stock notification in batches
Select this if you want to send notifications gradually in batches instead of sending them to all subscribers at once.

How to Check Performance
You can track the performance of your Back-in-Stock Message automation from the Performance tab.
- Use the date filter on the top-right to select the period for which you want to view the automation performance.
- Click Download Analytics Data to export the performance report.
This can help you check message attempts, delivery status, undelivered reasons, order value, and other automation-related data.

Important Notes
- The back-in-stock popup must be configured for customers to subscribe to restock alerts.
- The WhatsApp message template must be approved before it can be used.
- Make sure all template variables are mapped correctly.
- The automation must be enabled and saved for messages to be sent.
