Improved
Marketing Automations

Each Shopify Flow message can carry its own header image

Shopify Flow automations can now take the header image, video or document from the Media URL field of the DelightChat action in Shopify Flow. Each message can carry its own file, such as the image of the product the customer ordered, instead of one fixed upload.

Before this update, a Shopify Flow automation sent the same header file in every message: the one you uploaded in the automation. The Media URL field in the Flow action was ignored. Now, in the automation, you can choose Send from Shopify Flow as the source of the header. Each message then uses the file URL that your Flow workflow passes in the Media URL field.

This helps merchants who send order or product messages from Shopify Flow and want the header to match each customer's order. For example, pass the product's featured image URL from the trigger data, and every customer sees their own product in the message header.

How to set it up

  1. Open Marketing, then Automations. Create a Shopify Flow automation or open an existing one.
  2. Choose a message template that has an image, video or document header.
  3. Under Message Template Header, choose Send from Shopify Flow instead of uploading a file, then click Save.
  4. In Shopify Flow, open the DelightChat action in your workflow and fill in the Media URL field with the file URL, for example the product's featured image URL.
