Home sidebar groups channels by brand

The Home sidebar now groups your channels under their brands. It remembers which brands you closed, and a new filter can show only the channels that have unassigned chats, so you can see where the work is at a glance.

If you run several brands or many channels, the old sidebar was one long list. Now each brand is a group header with its channels indented below it. The brand name turns bold when it has unassigned conversations. When you close a brand, it shows a small grey count of its unassigned chats, so closing it does not hide the work. The brand you close stays closed after you reload the page or log out and back in on the same browser.

A closed brand still shows the channel you have open, and any channel that needs to be reconnected. A channel with a problem is never hidden, and opening a channel does not open its brand again.

Show only channels with unassigned chats

Hover over Support Channels and click the funnel icon. Under Show channels, choose All to see every channel in each brand, or Unassigned to see only channels with unassigned conversations, plus the channel you have open and any channel that needs to be reconnected. Every brand stays in the list as one row. In the Unassigned view, hover over a brand and click More channels to see the channels the filter hides and open one. All is the default, and your choice is remembered in your browser.

More actions menu

The plus icon next to Support Channels is now a More actions menu (three dots). It has Add channel, Rearrange, and, when you have two or more brands and the All view is on, Collapse all and Expand all. If your account has no channels yet, the plus icon stays where it was.

Rearrange channels and brands

Drag handles for brands and channels appear only after you choose Rearrange, so you cannot move a channel by accident while you work. Rearrange shows the full list whatever filter is on. A channel can be moved only within its own brand. Click Done when you are finished.

How to use it

  1. Open the inbox on Home and look at Support Channels in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the arrow next to a brand to close or open it.
  3. Hover over Support Channels, click the funnel icon and choose Unassigned to focus on channels with work.
  4. Use the three-dot menu for Add channel, Rearrange, or Collapse all and Expand all.

No setup is needed. The sidebar is also wider than before, 240 pixels by default, and you can drag its edge to make it up to 360 pixels wide. Full brand and channel names show when you hover over them.
