API Keys & MCP page is easier for non-technical admins

The settings page for connecting AI apps and scripts to DelightChat is now called API Keys & MCP. It opens with a Start here guide, a Copy Setup Prompt button and plain-language permissions, so an admin who has never used an API can connect ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor.

Connecting an AI app or a script to your DelightChat account used to be a job for someone technical. The page now shows an admin what to click, what to paste and what the connection can and cannot do, before any technical detail.

What is new on the page

What a connection can do

An AI app or key can see your chats and tickets, and see broadcast results. If you allow Change tickets, it can also tag, assign, change the status and add internal notes. It never sends messages to your customers. Each key acts as the admin who created it, and phone numbers stay masked where they are masked for you. Sending or drafting replies, webhooks, help articles and AI knowledge, and customer lists and segments are not supported yet.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings, Integrations & Channels, API Keys & MCP. Only account admins can open it.
  2. To connect an AI app, copy the MCP URL, add it in your AI app as a custom connector or MCP server, then sign in with your DelightChat admin account and choose what it may do.
  3. To connect a script, choose New Key, pick a preset and create the key. DelightChat shows the key only once, so store it in your script's secret settings. The API docs list the calls you can make.

API Keys & MCP is available to admins on a live paid plan. On other plans the page says it needs a paid plan.
