Can I connect an email alias to DelightChat?

What is an email alias?

An email alias is an alternative email address added to an existing email inbox.

For example, Priya can have:

priya@delight.chat - as the primary email

priyaa@delight.chat - as an alias

priyas@delight.chat - as another alias

priyadharma@delight.chat - as another alias

All emails sent to these aliases will land in Priya’s main inbox.

If a customer sends an email to: Priyadharma@delight.chat

The email will still be received in: Priya@delight.chat inbox

This is because Priyadharma@delight.chat is only an alias of the main email account.

Can Google Workspace have multiple aliases?

Yes. Google Workspace allows you to add multiple alternate email addresses or aliases for one user.

So one user can have one primary email and multiple alias emails.

Limitation when connecting to DelightChat

While Google Workspace supports multiple aliases, DelightChat can connect only one forwarding address for one inbox at a time.

This means the merchant needs to choose which email address they want to connect to DelightChat:

Only one email address can be connected/forwarded to DelightChat at a time for that inbox.

So the merchant should choose whether they want to connect the primary email or one alias email to DelightChat.
